The purpose of contemporary art is to present things and situations in a “different” context and
irrespective of financed cultural policies. The artists Ivars Grāvlejs (1979) and Petra Petileta (1978) will
be staging the exhibition “Rīga” at the INTRO Hall of the Rīga Art Space from April 28 of this year, and
their purpose is to divert our attention from everyday stereotypes and to encourage us to look at Rīga

01/06 – 01/07 Gunārs Krollis. Transfers of the Subconscious.
The exhibition will feature recent graphite and sepia drawings (201 – 2011) which demonstrate the
great mastery of Gunārs Krollis (1932). In terms of theme, this is a continuation of the artist’s interest

This will be the first personal exhibition by the artist Baiba Rubine (1979). She works in the area of
