28/04 – 27/05 Rīga. Ivars Grāvlejs and Petra Petileta.

The purpose of contemporary art is to present things and situations in a “different” context and irrespective of financed cultural policies. The artists Ivars Grāvlejs (1979) and Petra Petileta (1978) will be staging the exhibition “Rīga” at the INTRO Hall of the Rīga Art Space from April 28 of this year, and their purpose is to divert our attention from everyday stereotypes and to encourage us to look at Rīga with “more open” eyes. 2 LVL

11/05 – 10/06 Recollections of Titanic after 100 years. International graphic art exhibition

Till 10 June 2012 selected graphic art will be presented in the Education Room of Riga Art Space and in the Historical basements of Blackheads House. International graphic art exhibition „Recollections of Titanic after 100 years” celebrates its catalogue and opening on 10 May at 5. p.m. Curator – Nele Zirnite. Show participates in the Museum Night 19 May. 2 LVL

Pasākumi

01/06 – 01/07 Gunārs Krollis. Transfers of the Subconscious.

The exhibition will feature recent graphite and sepia drawings (201 – 2011) which demonstrate the great mastery of Gunārs Krollis (1932). In terms of theme, this is a continuation of the artist’s interest in synthetic and symbolic images which cover a wide range of associations. 2 LVL

06/07 – 05/08 Baiba Rubine. Ice Age.

This will be the first personal exhibition by the artist Baiba Rubine (1979). She works in the area of photography and consistently denies the processes after the images are taken. 2 LVL
